Draft The San Francisco 49ers’ defense has had positive moments San Francisco 49ers Womens T-Shirt , but the pass rush remains a huge problem. The team is able to get some interior pressure, but they get very little off the edge to create problems.Of course, when the team does not address the position during the offseason, these things are going to happen. The 49ers extended Cassius Marsh and signed Jeremiah Attaochu (later released), while declining Elvis Dumervil’s option after he had led the team in sacks in 2017.The team is in a rebuilding process, and it is entirely possible they targeted the 2019 offseason as the best opportunity to add talent to the group. NFL Draft picks are no sure thing, but the 2019 NFL Draft could feature an especially talented group of edge rushers. The 49ers are looking at a fairly high draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. I decided to ask Greg Valerio, Josh Eccles, and Alex Eisen to put together a ranking of their top five edge rushers for 2019. Additionally, each of them wrote up their favorite edge rusher, and their favorite sleeper in the draft.Edge rusher rankings, 10/3RkGreg ValerioJosh EcclesAlex EisenRkGreg ValerioJosh EcclesAlex EisenJosh EcclesFavorite: Josh Allen, DE, No. 41 - KentuckyHeight: 6’5” | Weight: 230 | 40 time: 4.692018 stats (5 games): 6 sacks, 33 tackles (17 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumblesMark Zerof-USA TODAY SportsIf you’ve paid any attention at all to college football this season then you know that Kentucky has been surprising folks with their undefeated start as they near the halfway mark of the 2018 season. Many would argue that their run can’t last much longer as matchups against the likes of Georgia (and the rest of the SEC) loom on the horizon. One of the many impressive things about the Wildcats thus far has been the play of pass rushing specialist Josh Allen whom, week in and week out, has shown fans and scouts alike that he is, indeed, the real deal. His most impressive showing was also his most recent one against South Carolina as managed to disrupt the Gamecocks’ entire offense on his way to tallying a total of 3 sacks. He’s strong San Francisco 49ers Hats , athletic, intelligent, has a high motor, and would slide in perfectly to what San Francisco is trying to do on defense. He is a little on the small side but will grow into his body as time goes on so that should not - in any way - be a detractor from teams taking a chance on him.Sleeper: Chase Winovich, DE, No. 15 - MichiganHeight: 6’3” | Weight: 255 | 40 time: 4.772018 stats (5 games): 3 sacks, 32 tackles (18 solo), 10.5 tackles for lossBrad Mills-USA TODAY SportsA legitimate argument could be made about the fact that Jim Harbaugh’s stint as head coach at Michigan has been a bit of a letdown. You know what isn’t a letdown, though? Watching Wolverine EDGE rusher Chase Winovich play football. The dude has a high motor and always seems to find a way to disrupt things in the backfield. 2019 will be a deep year for pass rushers and Winovich provides good value for any team who may find themselves unable to select one of the many talented EDGE rushers within the first three rounds of the draft. Like I said, he has a high motor - that paired with his good athleticism and his ability to get around the edge and into the backfield bodes well for him to make his mark as a pro for years to come.Greg ValerioFavorite: Nick Bosa, DE, No. 97 - Ohio StateHeight: 6’4” | Weight: 265 | 40 time: 4.752018 stats (3 games): 4 sacks, 14 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 1 touchdownNick BosaPhoto by Jamie Sabau/Getty ImagesAlthough I am a huge fan of Florida State’s Brian Burns, I have to go with my favorite prospect in the draft class in Nick Bosa. It is rare to see two brothers sharing high-end success at the next level, but Nick Bosa is on the path to match older brother’s “Joey” ride and success in the NFL. The junior is a tremendously gifted athletic talent showcasing a terrific combination of size, strength, athleticism, natural ability San Francisco 49ers Womens Hoodie , power, quickness, football intelligence, and superb technique. A man amongst boys, Bosa is an all around complete player with excellent technique, adept in all facets of the game whether rushing the passer, wreaking havoc in the backfield, or as a stout run stopper. NFL Bloodlines runs thick and Bosa’s successful transition to the next level is pretty much a sure thing, but first he needs to get healthy. Sleeper: Oshane Ximines, No. 7 - Old DominionHeight: 6’3” | Weight: 252 | 40 time: 4.652018 stats (5 games): 6 sacks, 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 1 pass deflection, and 2 forced fumblesOshane XiminesRay Carlin-USA TODAY SportsAlthough not really considered a “sleeper” per se, Oshane Ximines is a somewhat under-the-radar prospect worth keeping an eye on. A leader on the field, Ximines is an explosive LEO prospect with destructive tendencies wreaking havoc in opponents’ backfields. A standout tough athlete with an immense passion for the game, Ximines is an impressive pass rush talent with great first-step explosion, length, fluid change-of-direction skills, quickness, agility Womens Customized San Francisco 49ers Jerseys , strength, and athleticism. He showcases good bend off the edge (nice flexibility) maintaining balance and burst closing with speed and violence. He does a good job utilizing his active hands and is quick to transition into his pass rush moves with smoothness winning with speed, power, and awareness.Alex EisenFavorite: Clelin Ferrell, No. 99, - ClemsonHeight: 6’5 | Weight: 260 | 40 Time: 4.712018 Stats: (5 Games) 17 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble.Jerome Miron-USA TODAY SportsNick Bosa has my vote to be the number one pass rusher off the board come April, even with his current injury. However, my favorite pass rusher in this draft has, and continues to be Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson. Causing disruption along the line of scrimmage is an understatement. Ferrell’s dominance along the line not only puts him in the spotlight, but creates plays and valuable opportunities for his fellow defensive lineman (3 other future first round picks).Last season Ferrell filled up the stat sheet with over sixty total tackles and 9.5 sacks. His short area quickness and burst off the line are among the most explosive in the nation. He gets to the quarterback often and early. Ferrell is strong against the run, and the point of attack. Has a great frame, with strong and reliable hands that scouts andevaluators seek at the next level. A nightmare for offensive lineman to cover, and will often require to be double-teamed along the line of scrimmage. The scary thought about Ferrell was that many had him as a top 15 pick had he declared in 2018. Ferrell will continue to build his resume as he is looking like a top 10 lock in next year’s draft. Sleeper: Carl Granderson, No. 91 - WyomingHeight: 6’4” | Weight: 255 | 40 Time: 4.752018 Stats (5 Games): 16 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 batted passDenny Medley-USA TODAY SportsKeep a close eye on Carl Granderson out of Wyoming. The converted pass rusher continues to climb up draft boards after a productive season in 2017 where he totaled 77 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble. Does not nearly get the media attention playing in the Mountain West Conference. However www.49erscheapshops.com , he has received positive marks and early praise from scouts and evaluators. Has a strong build and frame that will transition nicely at the next level.Watching Granderson on tape, he has the ability to find the small gaps and holes heading towards the opponents backfield. Strong, reliable hands help him push off blockers. Has shown the ability to stop the run, and make his presence known on passing downs. Disrupts and clogs up potential gaps against the run. On numerous occasions Granderson is reading the passer’s eyes, and adjusting accordingly to make an impact on the play. Has nice burst along the line, off the snap. Since converting to defensive end, he has built a package of pass rusher moves that he continues to polish and improve upon each season. He might not be in the national spotlight, but he is slowly getting the scouts’ attention while raising his draft stock in the process. At the moment Granderson is a late day two, early day three pick with his arrow pointing up.Ravens-Steelers close out the day with Sunday Night Football We’re back for the fourth week of Sunday Night Football to close out the day. The Cleveland Browns have announced that they will release wide receiver Josh Gordon on Monday. Gordon was listed as out for Sunday due to a hamstring injury Youth Arik Armstead Jersey , but given the cryptic statement by Browns general manager John Dorsey, there may be a bit more going on.Gordon has been in the league since 2012, but most of his time has been marred by suspensions due to violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. He will be going through the waiver process. If he clears waivers, he will be a free agent. The entire Gordon situation has been bizarre in 2018. He was originally coming off the bench in Week 1’s tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but somehow was on the field for the first offensive snap anyways. He had a sudden hamstring injury that listed him as out for Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. Whatever dysfunction is in the Cleveland offices will come out as the days roll on. Browns beatwriter Mary Kay Cabot reports that Gordon came to practice Saturday late and, “Not himself.” Cabot went on to suggest that the Browns thought he had relapsed. As to why the Browns are waiting until Monday Womens Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , Adam Schefter reports that he has vested veteran status, meaning once released, he is a free agent. The Browns are using the Monday release date as a play to trade him rather than let him go out as a free agent. The San Francisco 49ers do need wide receiver help with Marquise Goodwin being sidelined from a quad injury, but it opens up opportunities for Dante Pettis and Richie James in the interim. I don’t see a scenario where Gordon could contribute or at least where he could come in without stunting the growth of the younger talent. Gordon had loads of talent in his early years of the league, but substance abuse issues have short-circuited his football career. There’s still time for him to catch on with a team, but a lot of the best years of his talent has been lost while he’s been on the outside looking in.Golden Nuggets: 49ers lose one of their primetime games In a move that surprises no one http://www.the49ersfootballauthentic.com/marquise-goodwin-jersey-authentic , the 49ers’ game against the Rams that was scheduled for Sunday Night Football on October 21st has been moved up to the afternoon. The NFL moved a more likely enjoyable game in its place. The Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals will now face off on Sunday night in place of the 49ers game. The NFL was hoping to have the 49ers competing in the NFC West with Jimmy Garoppolo and Kyle Shanahan against Jared Goff and Sean McVay. But after Jimmy went down for the season, it was only a matter of time that the decision was made to move their game. An undefeated team versus a one win team was not what the NFL was looking for when they made the schedule. The 49ers still have 4 more primetime games, but they are likely to lose the December 2nd Sunday Night game against the Seattle Seahawks unless they have a quick turnaround in their play. They still have their other 3 primetime games that they can’t lose because Monday and Thursday night games cannot be changed. The nation will be able to see the injury depleted 49ers at least 3 times whether they want to or not.On Tuesday, the 49ers made a few roster moves. They released DB Dexter McCoil and WR Frank Stephens from the practice squad. They signed RB Matthew Dayes, OL Najee Toran, and DB Tyvis Powell to the practice squad. 49ers linksLooking for players at all positions | Looking for backups (Inman)Trade Sherman? (and good afternoon to our friends much further East) Youth Brock Coyle Jersey , 49ers football is back for their third game of the season today! The young 1-1 team travels to Kansas City to face the offensively-potent Chiefs, led by second year quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Not surprisingly, he’s put up record numbers in his first two starts of the season, completing nearly 70% of his passes, including 10 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He’s aided by an embarrassment of riches in the speed department thanks to RB Kareem Hunt and WR Tyreek Hill, as well as reliable targets in TE Travis Kelce and WR Sammy Watkins. There’s no doubt that the 49ers defense will have their hands full today with this high octane offense. Robert Saleh’s unit has largely limped out of the gate, playing the kind of uninspiring ball that doesn’t match up to the amount of talent that currently exists. While CB Richard Sherman has been a pleasant surprise in his return, the secondary as a whole has been generally unimpressive, despite the mounting evidence leading into the season that this unit could be one of the strengths of the team. In fact, standout safeties Jaquiski Tartt and Adrian Colbert have been something of a let down through two games, and CB Ahkello Witherspoon’s play last week was so poor that it necessitated his benching in the fourth quarter. The pass rush, as expected, has been abysmal outside of defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who has been an absolute terror from the interior of the defensive line. While there’s no light at the end of the proverbial tunnel for that issue as of yet, the defense will see the long-awaited return of linebacker Reuben Foster. The versatile and elite-when-available defender will slot in alongside rookie phenom Fred Warner to create, what should be White Mike McGlinchey Jersey , an extremely efficient defensive core, that should ideally elevate all phases of the defense. As it currently stands, however, Tartt may not take the field due to an injury sustained last week - which only makes Foster’s return that much more important in the short & intermediate coverage game, as well as run support.Offensively, the 49ers have some serious work to do. Luckily, what was recently an impressive defense in Kansas City has become an inefficient and inviting matchup this season. Unfortunately, however, there remains the ugly truth that the Chiefs are going to hang a ton of points up this week (and probably every other week), and it’ll be up to the 49ers offense to keep this game competitive. It was Black Monday in September for 49ers fans as news broke earlier this morning that Jimmy Garoppolo did, in fact, tear his ACL in Sunday’s contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 2018 offseason was long and arduous for those who were impatiently waiting to see the franchise quarterback show off what strides he’s made as he continued to get more acclimated with head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offensive playbook. Pundits were picking the Niners as a darkhorse playoff candidate before the regular season began. All that is moot now, though, because the hearts of those within and outside of the organization were collectively ripped out the moment Garoppolo fell to the ground. What’s left is a team still going through a rebuild having to play the final 13 games of the year with a backup quarterback who had his fair share of struggles during the preseason. The only other quarterback in the organization is Nick Mullens, who is more-than-likely to be added to the 53 man roster (along with a veteran, early reports suggest). While this season is essentially a wash, there are a few things to consider before you effectively tune-out every Sunday until next September. I'm taking it upon myself to talk those of you who are reading this off the proverbial ledge that you currently find yourselves looking over. This is still very much a rebuild in progress - the addition of Jimmy Garoppolo initially seemed like it had sped of the process but, at least during these first handful of games, it’s obvious that there are still holes to fill and development needed up and down the roster: the team still lacks a consistent rush on the edges, there are some issues at the guard position on the offensive line, and the offense lacks a true bonafide number-one receiver. If there is any “silver lining” to this horrible situation it’s based, in large part, on the idea that there is some draft capital to look forward to come the 2019 NFL Draft; the upcoming draft class is setting itself up to be fairly deep on the defensive line and the 49ers’ biggest need is Jimmy Garoppolo jersey , arguably, on the edges of the defensive line. A safe bet for a win total heading into this season was 7-8 wins (in the minds of most people, at least) - with Garoppolo out for the rest of 2018 you could figure to knock off 3-4 wins from that projection which, in turn, improves the draft position of San Francisco. So, hey, that’s cool right? The injury to Garoppolo also hurts when knowing that he could have absolutely benefited from taking as many reps as possible under center while he continues to learn Kyle Shanahan’s offense. This is why you invest in a solid backup quarterback, though, and it is widely known that CJ Beathard has earned the trust and respect of those within the 49ers organization. If anything this provides Beathard with the opportunity to continue to develop as a passer, something that shouldn’t be overlooked. Teams are as desperate as ever for quality quarterback play and, if CJ Beathard is productive enough, there could be a team who ends up wanting to give up a draft pick or two for his services. Overall, it’ll still be very interesting to see how the team continues to develop as Kyle Shanahan continues to implement his offense. The defense has shown flashes of greatness - most notably from DeForest Buckner, who is just beginning his campaign for Defensive Player of the Year. We’re all in this together, 49er Faithful. Stay strong.
Thompson to their 53-man roster The Dallas Cowboys are signing former New York Giants safety Darian Thompson to their 53-man roster. The Giants drafted Thompson in the third round of the 2016 draft Authentic Jon Halapio Jersey , and he started 18 games for the Giants, making 85 tackles, 6 passes defensed Cheap Evan Engram Jersey , and 1 interception. Thompson was a surprisingly waived after the final pre-season game when the team decided to go with former cornerback Curtis Riley as their free safety.Thompson was injured in preseason and the Giants seemingly wanted a converted cornerback as a free safety, moving Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the position before waiving him and they tried William Gay there as well. The third-year safety landed on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad after being waived as a part of the massive roster turnover that came with final cutdowns. The Giants won’t see the Cowboys, and Thompson (assuming he is still healthy and on their 53-man roster) until the final game of the season.Giants worked out ... no one on Tuesday If you were waiting for the New York Giants to work out a cavalcade of right tackle candidates on Tuesday as potential competition for the much-maligned Ereck Flowers http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-kareem-martin-jersey , sorry. The Giants did not work out any players on Tuesday. At least none that I have been able to ascertain or find reports about. Here is your list of currently available offensive tackles. What you think of the players on this list is up to you. The Giants’ decision-makers are sending a clear signal that they are not impressed by what they can currently find on the market. http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-hernandez-jersey , or won’t, win the Super Bowl Can someone possibly project which teams will, or won’t, win the Super Bowl? Sure, by using a process commonly referred to as “guessing.” The New York Giants themselves have proven the folly of ruling a team out of contention in August or September. In 2007, they were perceived as a mediocre team with a head coach who should be fired. In 2011 they were perceived as a mediocre team with a franchise quarterback who caused belly laughs among the punditry when he said that he thought he was in Tom Brady’s class of quarterback. It might be slightly more accurate to assess which teams the chance a team has of making a run at the Super Bowl. That’s what Bill Barnwell did for ESPN, assessing how likely each of the 32 teams were to play in the Super Bowl, and how they could win it. He lists the Giants as one of the least-likely teams to play in, and win, the last game of the season, ranking them at 26th with a miniscule 0.3 percent chance at the Super Bowl. Ouch. What path does Barnwell lay down for the Giants to win the Super Bowl? Well, it’s fairly obvious: They could surprise us all and be good if their best players — Odell Beckham Jr., Landon Collins, Janoris Jenkins, and Damon Harrison — and their second tier of players — Evan Engram, Eli Apple http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-janoris-jenkins-jersey , Will Hernandez, Nate Solder — play well. As well, he says that they’ll need Olivier Vernon and Alec Ogletree to fix the problems at linebacker, and for Eli Manning to play like a franchise quarterback. If the majority of the Giants’ starting offense and defense plays well, according to Barnwell, they might just have a chance. If not? Well...It’s interesting that Barnwell doesn’t mention players like WRs Sterling Shepard and Cody Latimer, DT Dalvin Tomlinson, LB B.J. Goodson, EDGE Lorenzo Carter, or FS Curtis Riley as players who could be major role players in a Giants run, despite the importance of their roles. The Giants should reasonably expect their best players to play their best. Any team will miss the play-offs, or have an early exit, if their best players don’t perform up to expectations. The difference between the teams that make it and the ones who fall short are often the players nobody knows who step up and provide answers where none were expected.Sterling Shepard, or Latimer, could be the offense’s X-factor as teams concentrate on dealing with Beckham, Engram http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-connor-barwin-jersey , and Barkley. Tomlinson will likely play more snaps, in more situations, than Harrison. He might not (yet) be the dominant player that Harrison is, but stout defensive tackle play is needed on every defensive snap. Goodson is a force against the run, and looks surprisingly comfortable playing in space. He might not be a “big name” but the more the Giants can do from their base packages, the better for the defense. I have lost count of the number of times I have said this over the years, but good free safety play is transformative for a defense — especially a blitz-heavy defense. The defense absolutely needs a reliable last line of defense for a DC to feel comfortable sending pressure. If Riley is able to convert from corner to free safety, that is a tremendous advantage. The Giants have the talent at the top of their depth chart to compete with any team in the NFL. Beckham, Janoris Jenkins, Harrison, and Collins are each among the best in the league at their positions when healthy. Sterling Shepard was a top-5 slot receiver in 2017 despite playing just 11 games and playing through injury when he was on the field. And in the ultra-small sample size that was the first half of the third preseason game, Eli Manning looked better — more crisp, confident, and aggressive — than he has in years. And that is all well and good, but why wouldn’t the Giants’ make the post-season (let alone the Super Bowl)? For a team that went 3-13, got a new general manager http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-b.j.-goodson-jersey , head coach (and coaching staff), and had so much roster turnover that even veterans of multiple teams describe it as “wild,” that certainly isn’t easy. The biggest pitfall for the 2018 Giants is their depth chart. It is simply riddled with question marks. Much of their secondary was brought on after final cuts, which raises questions for a blitz-heavy defense which relies on players to go from disguising coverage to being in position and keeping the ball in the quarterback’s hand. There is also the issue of the offensive line, particularly the interior. Eli Manning, and pretty much every other “pocket passer” (read: “quarterbacks who can’t run good”), depend more on a stout interior line than stout offensive tackles. While athletic quarterbacks can escape interior pressure by scrambling — which is facilitated by good tackle play to help them break contain — pocket passers need a pocket which they can climb to avoid pressure off the edge. The Giants have upgraded their tackle positions with Nate Solder pushing Ereck Flowers to the right side, but the interior of their line is a question mark. Will Hernandez is a highly drafted and talented rookie, but he is a rookie — he will have “rookie moments” as he adjusts to the speed, power, and gamesmenship of the NFL. Jon Halapio has only recently moved to center, and Patrick Omameh has had his struggles at right guard. Pat Shurmur said that the Giants will only go as far as the offensive line blocks for them, and it’s fair to wonder if the revamped offensive line is actually an improvement over the 2017 line, or just different. If it is the latter, the Giants will have a tough time making it to Atlanta on Feb. 3, 2019 unless they buy tickets. Which will it be? There is a much greater chance that any team will not play in the Super Bowl (let alone win it) than there is that they will. Winning the Super Bowl is HARD and even great teams will fall short and miss it. If the Giants get what they need from their best players Womens Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , and get some surprise contributions from their depth, they should surprise those who are dismissing them in September.Derrius Guice’s injury reminds us of the best part of the Giants’ loss New York Giants football is finally back, and after one preseason game fans are already talking each other off of the ledge. Make no mistake, the Giants have issues like concerns over the passing game — both on offensive and defense — or Davis Webb’s “amped up” erratic play. However, we can’t allow ourselves to overlook the single biggest win to come out of the Giants’ 20-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns, the for "Kudos" that Ed forgot in his post game "Kudos and Wet Willie's":They’re still healthy. Derrius GuiceGeoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsGiants fans got a stark reminder of that fact when Washington Redskins rookie running back Derrius Guice was diagnosed with a torn ACL on Friday. Guice suffered the injury when he was tackled awkwardly finishing a nice run against the New England Patriots. The Giants aren't completely healthy, they lost rookie cornerback Sam Beal to a shoulder injury almost as soon as he became a Giant, and have suffered a spate of hamstring injuries in the secondary. Hamstrings are frustrating injuries to have -- you can't do much until they're healthy, and even if you feel recovered, you might not yet be healthy. But compared to Guice and twelve (as of this writing) other season ending knee injuries, Thompson's hamstring is far from a worst case scenario. The first week of preseason football brought the injury bug to several teams around the league. Tom Brady is dealing with back soreness while the Indianapolis Colts lost exciting rookie receiver Deon Cain for the season. Injury provides opportunities for other players, and perhaps Guice's injury could be an opportunity for former Giants running back Orleans Darkwa. But for the Giants, amd Giants fans, Guice's injury should serve as a reminder that while they have issues, they also have largely healthy players (and players who will return from injury) to coach up on those issues.
Somehow it’s already Week 4 in the NFL (weird) and byes have already started (weirder). For fantasy players that starts to shorten the pool of available players and can sometimes put a little more pressure on start/sit decisions. Well Authentic Sterling Shepard Jersey , luckily we’re here to help ... hopefully. Running backStart: Chris Carson, Seattle SeahawksSeattle took a running back in the first round, yet the Seahawks have not let that stop Chris Carson from reigning as the No. 1 back. Carson has outcarried Rashaad Penny 45-20 and outsnapped him 49.5 percent to 28.7 percent on the season. That was a 32-3 and 74 percent to 14 percent advantage last week against the Cowboys. The Seahawks want to run the ball and they’re playing the Cardinals, who have allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs.Start: Phillip Lindsay, Denver BroncosRoyce Freeman has a 36-33 rushing attempt over Lindsay this season, but that’s partly because Lindsay was ejected after just four rushing attempts this past week for throwing a punch. Still, Freeman only got 13 carries on the day. Lindsay has been the Broncos’ top back and per Next Gen Stats, he’s been the most “efficient” runner in the league with just 2.73 yards run per positive yard gained. The Broncos might find themselves in a shootout with the Kansas City Chiefs — Devontae Booker is the team’s top receiving back — but the Chiefs are also giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs.Sit: Peyton Barber, Tampa Bay BuccaneersBarber is Tampa Bay’s top back, but his production hasn’t really supported that role. He has just 124 yards on 43 carries and has only four targets and one reception for seven yards in the passing game. Barber and the Buccaneers are playing the Chicago Bears who have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs and have faced the fifth-fewest rushing attempts through three weeks.Sit: Dion Lewis, Tennessee TitansThis year was supposed to be different. The Titans were going to run an NFL offense and the signing of Dion Lewis was a key. But Marcus Mariota has been hurt and the offense really hasn’t taken off. Lewis hasn’t had more than five receptions in a game this season and that came in Week 1 and he only has 193 yards from scrimmage. Now Tennessee will face the Eagles, who are second in DVOA against the run, 10th against running backs in the passing game, and have allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to running backs so far. Wide receiverStart: Mike Williams, Los Angeles ChargersMike Williams is finding his place in the Chargers offense. He’s the No. 2 wide receiver — third in targets behind Keenan Allen and Melvin Gordon. Allen has yet to practice this week, which could even increase Williams’s role. The San Francisco 49ers are likely to be without Richard Sherman and have struggled to find a second corner to play across from him. The Chargers haven’t gotten the attention of the Chiefs, Buccaneers, or Rams, but through three weeks they lead the league in percentage of offensive plays that have gained 20 or more yards. Williams has a team-leading 17.2 yards per reception.Start: Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati BengalsBoyd has unquestionably taken over as the Bengals’ No. 2 receiver. He’s second in targets, receptions, and touchdowns — all behind A.J. Green. He also has six receptions and a touchdown in each of the past two games. Cincinnati has been the seventh-most pass-heavy team this season and will be facing a Falcons defense that has struggled to stop the pass. Atlanta is 23rd against opposing No. 2 receivers. Sit: Amari Cooper, Oakland RaidersIn three games, Cooper has seen three, 10, and five targets. He’s had one, 10 Youth Kareem Martin Jersey , and two receptions. He’s being out-targeted by Jared Cook and has the same number of targets as Jalen Richard. That production probably isn’t going to get much better against a Browns teams that has shut down opposing wide receivers. Cleveland is no worse than eighth in DVOA defending against all positions in the passing game except for running back, where the Browns are 31st. Sit: Corey Davis, Tennessee TitansEverything about Corey Davis screams production, except for the actual production. He has a 30 percent target share (ninth-highest in the league), has gotten half of Tennessee red zone targets, and has the third-highest rate of his team’s air yards. But all of that has led to 13 receptions, 151 yards, and no touchdowns. A productive game should be coming eventually, but if you have better options, you might be better off waiting for it with him on your bench.Tight endStart: Trey Burton, Chicago BearsYou probably had higher hopes if you drafted Trey Burton. He’s been around TE16 for the season, which is streamable territory. But this week could be the week Burton and the Bears offense gets on track. Chicago is playing Tampa Bay, a team with linebackers who struggle in coverage. The Buccaneers are 25th in DVOA against tight ends and have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to tight ends. This, hopefully, is the Burton week you’ve been waiting for.Sit: George Kittle, San Francisco 49ersThis pains me because I’m a big fan of George Kittle’s game, but everything is working against him this week. He has C.J. Beathard at quarterback and will face a Chargers defense that is second in DVOA against tight ends and has allowed an average of 29 yards to tight ends and the third-fewest fantasy points per game.Pat Shurmur: Eli Manning “stays the course,” and other takeaways The day after his first victory as coach of the New York Giants, Pat Shurmur said he hopes the win was a game the Giants are able to build on.“I told our team if we just keep focusing on being a team and being tough and being gritty and caring, which means you work to get better, then I think we can build on this,” Shurmur said. Here are more takeaways from Shurmur’s Monday conference call.Eli Manning can take a punchShurmur once again expressed his belief in Manning, and explained why.“I believe in him, and our quarterback needs to know that we believe in him. We know that he’s got that in him,” Shurmur said. “The thing I like about Eli is, and I appreciate this about anybody, at some point in this game you don’t win all the time and at some point you take a punch. Eli can take ‘em and keep playing and I think that’s the thing that even before I knew Eli as much winning as he was involved with all those years I always admired the fact that he just stays the course and just keeps playing with the idea that tomorrow’s going to be a better day if today isn’t such a good one.”Toughness and gritShurmur was still talking about Manning when he said “toughness and grit” were the characteristics he thought were most important. It applies Youth Ray-Ray Armstrong Jersey , though, to the entire team.“You can be smart, you can be well-dressed, you can be well-spoken but at the end of the day and it’s absolutely demanded in our sport is your ability to be tough and gritty,” Shurmur said. “Those are the attributes in people, especially in football players, that’s an absolute necessity in our business.”Chad WheelerShurmur said Wheeler “did a really good job in the run game” and took responsibility for leaving him 1-on-1 vs. J.J. Watt too often in pass protection. “He battled and in my opinion even though he got beat on a couple of snaps I thought he had a winning performance,” Shurmur said.Shutting out the noiseThat has been a consistent Shurmur message.“It’s an organizational message of just shutting out the noise. It’s equally important this week. I don’t read it, I don’t listen to it, and if I have to hear it or answer the questions to it it’s not something we concern ourselves with. The 0-2 and what 0-3 mean ... to their credit they (the players) shut all that out and they went out and played hard. That needs to be the approach every week. You’ve gotta turn your back on the pats on the back, too.”Saquon Barkley “Everything we thought he would be”Shurmur continued to be impressed by rookie running back Saquon Barkley.“He’s everything we thought he would be to this point,” Shurmur said. “He shows up on game day. When you see it up close and personal you see the way he’s into it and how competitive his spirit is and how he wants to compete and get the ball in his hands.“There’s a reason why he’s got a chance to be a really good player for a very long time.”The play of John GrecoVeteran offensive lineman John Greco, in his 11th NFL season and playing for Shurmur for the third team, did a quality job at center Sunday as he replaced the injured Jon Halapio. Shurmur said he thought Greco’s experience helped the offensive line.“I think there’s no substitute for experience, especially as an offensive lineman” Shurmur said. “The been there, done that idea is hugely important. That’s why veteran players, especially in the offensive line, can have an impact. Especially if they come in in a backup role or filling in for an injured player.”Kerry Wynn was “outstanding”Shurmur was as impressed by the veteran defensive end as everyone else seems to be.“He’s kind of a relentless player. He’s tough. He’s all the things you’re looking for — he’s tough, he cares, he works and he finds a way to make plays,” Shurmur said. “That was an outstanding performance on his part.”Injury updatesAside from Evan Engram’s knee injury, Shurmur said the Giants have “the normal kind of post-game stuff ... normal wear and tear.”Shurmur said he thinks the MCL sprain report on Engram is accurate, but adds “we’re waiting to see how extensive it might be.”Shurmur said Olivier Vernon, who has yet to play because of a high ankle sprain is “making progress. Vernon and Eli Apple (groin) are both day-to-day.

But for several seasons now Authentic Chris Conte Jersey , the players behind them have been questions. Also try to focus on the secondary and receivers. There are many names playing for spots at their respective positions but not enough space on the depth chart. If you think Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter should give up play calling White Peyton Barber Jersey , you aren’t alone. Koetter was often criticized for his play calling last season. That may be why Koetter allowed offensive coordinator Todd Monken to called plays this preseason, and the offense has looked more explosive and efficient. But it’s just the preseason, right? Even if you focus on the process and not the results, it seems as though Monken does a better job leveraging down and distance and the skill sets of Tampa Bay’s very talented receiving corp. But with it only being preseason it’s hard to really judge if Monken is any better. But recently Koetter made statements that show he still hasn’t decided:And that he’s really struggling with the decision:Koetter has been noticeably cantankerous towards the media this preseason and has answered sarcastically or refused to answer at all, like he did on an innocuous question about the team captains. It’s hard to say if he’s already made up his mind, or if he’s really struggling with the decision. I’m sure Koetter has complicated feelings about this. If you let your coordinator call plays, and he’s worse than you, no big deal. But if he does it better than you, how can you go back? That’s where he finds himself right now. If he does take back play calling, at this point it might look like he’s putting his ego before the team. But he got to where he is as an NFL head coach by calling plays, and he truly enjoys doing it, so one could see how he would feel conflicted.Bucs vs. Titans: What To Watch For The Bucs notched a win during their first preseason game against Miami, but there was plenty of room for improvement, which is the norm after week one. This week was different than usual though with the Bucs traveling to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans through two joint practices and a preseason matchup.Tampa Bay has plenty of questions at running back, cornerback, guard, and to an extent - right tackle. The Titans still have a lot to figure out as well, from a new coaching staff, new systems, to injuries of their own. So what should you keep an eye on Saturday night? 1. Will Peyton Barber tighten his grip on the starting job? Bucs Nation’s own Bailey Adams discussed head coach Dirk Koetter’s recent comments about Barber earning the starting gig with Ronald Jones II looking like a rookie for most of camp. A standout all camp long, Barber has done little else but impress coaches and teammates around One Buc Place. He was by far and away the better running back of the two in South Beach. Even though he only notched four carries, he made the most of it Youth Chris Godwin Jersey , rushing for 21 yards and a touchdown. And he was spotted this past Tuesday at practice catching passes out of the backfield - further cementing the dedication to improving his game over the summer. While Barber has looked great, the same can’t really be said for Jones II, who fumbled twice during Thursday’s practice session. Add that to an unimpressive performance against Miami and it’s pretty clear that Jones II needs a big game against the Titans. Barber should receive more chances Saturday night that will help determine his fate in Tampa Bay and that could also determine Jones’ fate as well. 2. The Bucs’ receivers against the Titans’ secondaryThis will be one of the most intriguing matchups of the evening. Tampa Bay’s receiving corps is one of the best in the league and Tennessee’s secondary boasts players such as Logan Ryan, Kevin Byard, Malcolm Butler, and Adoree Jackson. That gives the Titans two Super Bowl champs, one All-Pro, and a first-round pick in the defensive backfield. To say they’re talented would be minimal at best, and with a Super Bowl-winning defensive coordinator and head coach, the Titans should be able to maximize the abilities of this secondary. The matchups alone are enough to cause excitement. Will Ryan be assigned to Mike Evans? Will it be Jackson-on-Jackson (Adoree vs. DeSean)? What happens if the Bucs put Evans or O.J. Howard in the slot? The Titans defensive backs got a preview of what the Bucs’ receivers can bring on Wednesday, but they evened things up a bit on Thursday - especially Jackson. A back-and-forth battle will be fun to watch against these two units. 3. Jason Pierre-Paul vs. Taylor LewanTampa Bay’s newest - and best - pass rusher will face off against arguably the best left tackle in the league for what should an entertaining matchup. If the Bucs wanted a true measuring stick for what JPP will bring this season, they sure as hell got one in Lewan. Both players possess massive skill and work-ethic, which are a few of many reasons why both have been featured as premier players during their careers. JPP made several plays against Lewan, including a big sack on Marcus Mariota during Wednesday’s practice. Lewan isn’t the type to let things go, so I’m sure he will be ready for Pierre-Paul come Saturday night. 4. The Titans’ receivers against the Bucs’ secondaryThis is where a lot of questions are on both rosters. For the Titans, they have a young, talented, but unproven receiving corps and the same could easily be said about the Bucs’ secondary. But the Titans aren’t dealing with injuries at the position - which can’t be said for Tampa Bay. Injuries have forced the Bucs to experiment in the secondary - leaving them with three rookies and a second-year player to receive multiple reps. Tampa Bay has two definite starters in Brent Grimes and Justin Evans, but the rest of the roster is a toss-up. M.J. Stewart has had an excellent camp, but it’s hard to entrust a rookie going up against the likes of Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, and A.J. Green. The Titans’ best receiver White Chris Conte Jersey , Rishard Matthews, is currently on the PUP list and last year’s fifth overall pick, Corey Davis has looked good at times but is still improving.Taywan Taylor, another second-year player has been playing with the ones due to Matthews’ absence and looked very good during the week’s joint practices. One player to keep an eye on for the Titans is receiver Darius Jennings, who scored the team’s first touchdown against Green Bay and has consistently made plays throughout camp. How the Bucs game plan with the injuries and how the Titans adjust to said injuries is another element to factor in during the game. 5.Jurrell Casey and the Bucs’ interior lineIt’s been noted during training camp that Casey, a multiple Pro Bowl defensive tackle, will no longer move positions along the defensive line. He will stay at the 3-tech spot on either side of the line depending on the matchup. Well, if you know defensive line techniques, a 3-tech will line up on the weakside guard’s outside shoulder, making said guard responsible for the oncoming rusher. This puts the offensive line at a disadvantage because now the weakside tackle can't double down and the center now has a longer distance to travel in order to execute the double-team. It will be interesting to see how the Bucs defend Casey Saturday nightDenny Medley-USA TODAY SportsThe Bucs currently have a rather large hole at right guard - and a right tackle recovering from knee surgery - so it makes all the sense in the world for the Titans to plug Casey in and watch him work. How will the Bucs respond? Or more importantly, how will Evan Smith, Caleb Benenoch, Demar Dotson, and others respond?Tampa Bay will play against Kawann Short and Grady Jarrett twice each this season. They will also go against Geno Atkins, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Williams, Damon Harrison, and others in 2018 - all players who are some of the best interior defensive linemen in the league. Granted, Williams and Harrison are nose tackles, but the space-eater will require double teams to keep him out of the Bucs’ backfield - which in return will require interior line help.
took the field for their first official training camp practice on Thursday morning Cheap Mike Evans Jersey , it was obvious that there won’t be a quarterback controversy while Jameis Winston sits out for the first three games of the season.35-year-old Ryan Fitzpatrick, as expected, got reps with the first team offense. Ryan Griffin, who has yet to see action in an NFL regular season game, got work with the second team. Winston, who can practice and play in the preseason before his suspension kicks in, mixed in with all three groups. After practice http://www.officialbuccaneersfootballstore.com/jameis-winston-jersey-cheap , head coach Dirk Koetter gave a very straightforward assessment of the quarterback situation, saying that Fitzpatrick will start and it would take “something that I can’t foresee right now” for Griffin to unseat him.Ever since the re-signing of Fitzpatrick, it was assumed that he would be the No. 2 behind Winston. Even still, there has been questions, at least among the fan base, about Griffin potentially taking that role if he has a strong preseason. Koetter shot that down, but was very complimentary of the 28-year-old:Griffin seemed to have a chance at winning the backup job during the 2017 preseason before going down with a shoulder injury. Koetter referred to him as a “veteran quarterback” on Thursday http://www.officialbuccaneersfootballstore.com/mike-evans-jersey-cheap , which seems strange for someone who hasn’t taken a snap in the regular season. But it does make sense, considering the Tulane product has spent the last three seasons with the Bucs, all under the offensive direction of Koetter.Despite it already seeming like a foregone conclusion prior to Thursday, it was significant for Koetter to get this out of the way early. It’s already complicated enough to figure out how to split first team reps between two quarterbacks, so not having to entertain the idea of a third is a positive. Plus, it knocks out any possible distractions that can come with a quarterback controversy. The Bucs certainly have plenty of distractions to worry about already.Taylor, Bond enter camp with a chance to start With training camp fast approaching White Demar Dotson Jersey , there’s an unexpected opportunity for several linebackers due to Kendell Beckwith’s broken ankle that he suffered in a car crash back in mid-April. Adarius Taylor and Devante Bond both saw some action in 2017 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Taylor ultimately seeing more action and garnering the statistics to back it up (in on 31 tackles). The two players will presumably get first shot at filling in for Beckwith this training camp and have a real shot to make a name for themselves while Beckwith continues to recover from surgery.Devante Bond has the harder fight of the two for reps as he was used sparingly in 2017 by the coaching staff. Bond is a true fighter, showing just that as he made the team as a 6th round pick and has worked on special teams. This past season, Bond racked up a Pro Football Focus (PFF) rating of 51.0 in limited duty which when viewed in a vacuum, was a better number than Adarius Taylor put together. Bond isn’t as athletic or instinctive as Taylor on the field and because of this, one would expect Taylor to have an early and potentially insurmountable lead when it comes to replacing Beckwith until he’s healthy. Adarius Taylor got first crack at filling in a season ago due to injuries within the Buccaneers linebacker core and in week 4 was the top performer at the position according to PFF. Taylor recorded a 91.2 overall grade for his play against the Redskins. As a whole, the season wasn’t all that kind to Taylor who closed the year out with a cool 47.4 overall grade according to PFF. Taylor tallied a total of 22 tackles and 9 assists http://www.authenticstampabaybuccaneers.com/cheap-vinny-curry-jersey , a forced fumble and fumble recovery as well as a lone sack on the season. The team will hope one of these two young linebackers can step in and hold down the position until Beckwith returns to action but make no mistake about it, neither will make the impact that Beckwith did a year ago where he filled in as the line-backing groups’s multi-tool. As our own Evan Winter wrote back in May, Beckwith’s injury could be more detrimental than expected and replacing someone who played 80% of the defensive snaps is tough to replace.Bucs Nation and fans alike are wishing for a successful and speedy recovery for Beckwith. Until then, we look forward to the battle that ensues at outside linebacker opposite Lavonte David and next to Kwon Alexander. As always, Go Bucs!
